Refund & Dispute Policy
Version 2026-09-28-draft
When you pay for a registration on Matchmaking, you pay the organization running the event (the "Organizer"). The money goes to the Organizer's own Stripe account, so refunds come from the Organizer, under the refund policy it published for that event.
Each event has its own refund policy
The Organizer writes the refund policy. It is shown on the event page and at checkout, and you accept it before paying. A copy of the policy you accepted is kept with your order, so a later change cannot alter the terms you agreed to.
How to get a refund
- Contact the Organizer using the contact details on the event page.
- Approved refunds go back to the card or wallet you paid with. Banks usually show them within 5–10 business days.
- Any service fee shown at checkout is Matchmaking's fee and is not refunded, except where the law requires.
If an event is cancelled
The Organizer is responsible for refunding registrants as its policy and the law require. If an Organizer does not respond to you, contact us at [LEGAL CONTACT EMAIL]: we will reach out to the Organizer, but we cannot send refunds from an Organizer's account ourselves.
Changing divisions
Adding divisions to a registration you already paid for charges only the difference in price. Removing divisions or withdrawing is a refund request to the Organizer, handled under its policy.
Disputes and chargebacks
Please ask the Organizer for a refund before disputing a charge with your bank. A dispute is handled between your bank, Stripe and the Organizer, can take weeks, and the Organizer may pause the registration while it is open.
